Lisa Bush is a dynamic speaker, author, playwright, producer and Pastor. But her greatest roles are Wife and Mother.
Born in Chicago, Illinois, Lisa moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota with her family at the age of five. Throughout her childhood, the urban street drama of crime, gang life and drugs played out before her eyes, consuming her family and community. Her eventual entanglement in that tumultuous and destructive existence led to years of drug trafficking, gang warfare and ultimately, her imprisonment at Shakopee Women's Correctional Facility where she was sentenced to 107 Months.
Her incarceration proved to be her rebirth. She stripped away the layers of hurt and self- hatred, molestation, abuse, kidnapping and rape as she committed herself to God.
Today Lisa uses her powerful testimony of resilience to inspire and elevate the lives of others speaking to diverse audiences at development conferences, seminars, religious organizations, retreats and schools. Dispensing her unique brand of realism and compassion to help heal and encourage individuals, many who have not yet acknowledged or owned their own wounds and challenges. Her debut novel, FREE? an autobiographical account of a young woman's struggle to get free from physical, emotional and spiritual bondage has been embraced widely and has been turned into a powerful and life changing stage production.
Since launching Freedom Ain't Free, Lisa has devoted herself to the holistic empowerment of women. It is her passion to motivate women to be their greatest self.
